About
Sébastien Arnaud is an independent senior software consultant. He started a software company in 1999 which pioneered web based media content management, based in part on wavelet image compression, to bring high image resolution over low bandwidth. The resulting application was used actively for three years at Auburn University. Since 2001, he has been acting as the senior lead developer and architect for a Web Analytics company where he developed expertise in architecting scalable software systems, developing artificial intelligence algorithms and building upon open source software successful data collection, analysis and reporting systems. He is the co-inventor of several (non-software) patents registered in the United States and European Union. Mr. Arnaud holds the equivalent to a master’s degree in Computer Science and MicroElectronics from the French engineering school ESIEE and has previously done some research on intelligent self-monitoring systems in a reusable space vehicle for the European Space Agency as well as autonomous deep sea mapping for DAEWOO Heavy industries (South Korea). He is an active open source advocate, he has contributed to many open source projects over the years and aspires to successfully start and lead one of his own in the near future.

How did this blog start?
For a long time I have been busy building tools and architecting applications in the web analytics space that have contributed to what people call today the Web 2.0. Somehow, though, I was too lazy to make the effort to be a part of this phenomenon, being blogging, social networking, etc. Well, this blog is my effort to engage the world and attempt to become a meaningful part of this movement. Enjoy!
Blog’s Spirit & Goal
Privileged are the ones who love doing what they do for a living. I am happy to say that I claim to be one of them (well on most days!) Technology is now connecting people in a way that even Jules Verne could not have ever imagined, and it is only the beginning. This blog aims to challenge thoughts about technology and other related matters and to provoke reaction and expression. I plan to document my journey as a developer and the projects I enjoy working on during my spare time, hoping others might find it stimulating or useful.
